01. Overview
Vanguard (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a private, opt-in coordination service intended to help participating Discord communities share relevant moderation records and respond to serious misconduct. Use of the website, application process, and any approved network services is subject to these Terms.
02. Participation and authority
Applicants must provide accurate contact and server information and be authorized to act for the Discord server they represent. Applications may be approved, declined, or held for further review at our discretion.
Network admission does not automatically grant any moderator access or enable enforcement. Each participating server must separately authorize network functionality and retain the ability to discontinue participation.
03. Enforcement controls
Participating communities remain responsible for their moderation rules, their server permissions, and the outcomes of actions taken on their servers. Network records should be assessed using reliable evidence, proportionate standards, and an opportunity for review.
Cross-server enforcement must only operate in servers that have expressly enabled it. A listing in the Vanguard database does not by itself establish wrongdoing or imply that Discord has banned or sanctioned an account.
04. Acceptable use
You may not use Vanguard to harass, intimidate, discriminate against, retaliate against, or knowingly submit false allegations about others. You may not upload stolen data, credentials, malware, or unnecessary sensitive personal information.
All activity must comply with applicable law and Discord's rules and developer policies. We may suspend access or reject records that do not meet these standards.
05. Records and appeals
Moderation records may include Discord account IDs, incident descriptions, evidence references, dates, and review history. Authorized administrators should provide accurate and relevant submissions and promptly correct any identified errors.
People affected by an incorrect or outdated network record may request review through our contact address. We may seek additional information before making a determination.
06. Access and termination
We may limit, suspend, or revoke access to protect network integrity, address abuse, or comply with applicable rules. Participating communities may request withdrawal. Removal from the network does not necessarily reverse individual bans imposed independently by participating servers.
07. Service disclaimers
The service is offered on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or the completeness or accuracy of community-submitted records. Nothing on this website represents an affiliation with a government authority or Discord, Inc.
08. Changes to terms
We may revise these Terms as features and operational practices change. Material changes should be communicated to participating servers where reasonably possible. The effective date at the top indicates the current published version.
